Noah's Ark Nursery

Marshall United Methodist Church provides childcare for our youngest members all year-round during all worship services, enabling parents and grandparents to participate in worship. Infants and toddlers from the age of 6 weeks through 4 years are invited to play in the nursery. There they receive the care of our Nursery staff and screened volunteers who provide a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for younger children. The children are separated by ages, with two rooms available. The youngest, non-walkers, are in the infant nursery and the older toddlers are in the toddler room.

Faith Adventures Sunday School-

Our Faith Adventures Sunday School program is available for children ages three up through seventh grade. Additional classes are available for youth and adults. Classes begin the Sunday after Labor Day and finish the Sunday before Memorial Day. This program is held at 10:00am and divided into the following groups:

Pre-school

Ages 3, 4, and 5

Preschoolers meet in-room and use the colorful, active, age-appropriate curriculum LIVE BIG, by Cokesbury. Our caring teaching team includes 4 adult lead teachers that each teach once a month on a rotating basis. Preschoolers must be age three by September 1 and potty trained.

Kindergarten

Through grade 5

Elementary students participate in the Workshop Rotational Model for Sunday School in our Sunday School wing where our rooms have been transformed into workshops. Children, grouped by grade, rotate through different workshops over a five-week period. Each workshop focuses on the same story or theme but employs different activities and media. This approach, which is based on Harvard Education Professor Howard Gardner's theories of multiple intelligences, reinforces the message with a fresh experience each week and helps keep children engaged and motivated. Workshops include Storytelling, Cooking/Science, Games, Movie, and Art. Children meet in the Sanctuary each week at 10:00 for an opening story/lesson, they are then escorted by a shepherd to their rotation workshop for the week. At the conclusion of their workshop children are escorted by the shepherds to Fellowship Hall where they can be picked up by their parents.

Sixth & Seventh Grade

Sixth and seventh grade Sunday school is set in a traditional Classroom using the curriculum, “BUZZ”, by Group publishing. Kids learn Bible truths that they will remember for a lifetime. Buzz takes kids and teachers on a journey to explore eight attributes of God. Kids will know God…feel his love…and cement a rock-solid friendship with him.
